A sweet monster and a very logical bear Supernatural's season 3 ended on the kind of cliffhanger that gets viewers yelling at their TV sets and counting the days to the new episodes. With season 4 starting on September 18th, we caught up via email with producer and writer Sera Gamble to try to eke out some hints about they mysteries of season 4. Read on to hear about why the showrunners are as excited as the fans, Sam (Jared Padalecki) and Dean Winchester (Jensen Ackles) going old school, Dean's state of mind, and horror-movie hair. Firefox News: The writer's strike cut season 3 short. Meanwhile, time was running down on Dean's deal. Has having a full season ahead and Dean no longer in the process of dying affected the atmosphere working on season 4? Sera Gamble: Yeah, I suppose we are in a different head space this season. Worrying about when we were going to shut down was no fun. And we came into this season with an embarrassment of riches, because we inherited some of the storyline we didn't get a chance to tell last year. So, we're in a happy place.

7. A Perfect Gentleman: Jared Padalecki
Born: July 19, 1982
What draws you to Jared Padalecki is that you know that he can be the sweet, sensitive, and perfect boyfriend (think Dean Forrester on ”Gilmore Girls”) but know that he has a backbone and can fight for what he believes in (think Sam on “Supernatural”). And even when he is a jerk (think Cheaper by the Dozen), we still can’t help but love him anyway. Sure these may be the characters he’s played and Jared is a separate person to them, but in real life Jared is just as lovable as his characters (his nice guy persona he attributes to hailing from Texas and thus the land of the perfect Southern gentleman) and girls are still in love with him.

What’s Next: The demon hunting continues into its 4th season when ”Supernatural” returns to the CW on September 18. Jared is also in the films Home for Christmas – due out later this year, and the Friday 13th remake alongside Ryan Hansen (”Veronica Mars”), which is set for release next February.

Supernatural Scores X-citing Guest For Season 4

i'm back mostly.

X-Files vet Mitch Pileggi, who may (or may not) have just appeared in the series' latest movie, already has a new gig lined up for fall — as a guest on Supernatural.

Speaking at the raucousSupernatural panel at Comic-Con, series creator Eric Kripkeoffered some scoop for the ravenous audience when pressed about upcoming guests. Pileggi will be appearing in Season 4 as Mary's father — thus, Sam and Dean's pappy!

The panel's other highlights included the surprise arrival of the two Ghost Facers and a sneak peek of the first five minutes of Season 4. The Ghost guys — who just might get their own mini spin-off — treated us to their special song and cracked the audience up when Jensen Ackles escorted them off stage.

The session was much less spoilery and playful than than that ofSmallville, and Kripke was far more cryptic about what's to come than might suit his loyal fans. But the adoration of Jared Padalecki and Ackles for their sheer gorgeousness was so zealous that the actors couldn't help but fan the flames for a cheering crowd.

The panel's closing moments added some laughs as Kripke brought along a bloopers reel that added some levity to the room — and showcased just how awesomely goofy the show's hunky leads can really be.

So, will you be tuning in for the X-factor this coming Supernatural season?— Anna Dimond
