Supernatural: Will Season 5 Be Its Last?

All good things must come to an end and Supernatural is no exception. The series has attracted a solid fan following and has performed consistently in the ratings, but sooner or later, fans will have to bid farewell to the good-looking Winchester boys. The question is: when will it end? Supernatural, which stars Jared Padalecki and Jensen Ackles, is presently in its third season, finishing off the remaining new episodes after the two-month hiatus that was caused by the writers' strike. After that, fans still have 22 new episodes to look forward to, knowing that the series has already been given an early renewal by The CW for a fourth season. While the paranormal series may still come back for another run, the fifth season may also be its last. Ending Supernatural in the fifth season is something anticipated by show creator Eric Kripke. “Yes, there is certainly more to explore,” Kripke said. “But we sort of have this five-year map. And Jared and Jensen like the idea of a five-year map because we work them so hard. It's possible, but I don't know…But a lot of these issues are beyond my control at the corporate level with ratings, etc. But my personal feeling is that I still want to go out in year five. It's better to go out strong and on top than to be 8 or 9 years into a piece of sh*t. You want conclusions… you want to end it. It's an epic story and epic stories deserve a good ending.” Of course, only time will tell. Closing the curtains on the series in its fifth season isn't something definite at this point and a lot can still happen in a span of two years.

 “Time Is On My Side”

SAM AND DEAN MEET DOC BENTON; BELA’S FATE IS REVEALED — As time runs out for Dean (Jensen Ackles), Sam (Jared Padalecki) convinces him to head to Eerie, Pennsylvania to investigate a possible zombie case. Instead, they discover Doc Benton (guest star Billy Drago), a real-life doctor who, in 1816, abandoned his medical practice to follow his obsession with finding the key to eternal life by drugging people and stealing their vital organs. Meanwhile, Bobby (Jim Beaver) finds out where Bela (Lauren Cohan) is hiding, and Dean heads out to confront her, leaving Sam behind to deal with the good doctor. Dean and Bela battle it out for the last time, and Dean leaves Bela in a desperate, and possibly fatal, position. Charles Beeson directed the episode written by Sera Gamble (#315).

P.S.
I'm getting a new computer tomorrow and I'm switching my DSL service. The notion of me updating the site in the next couple of days..will be very unlikely. So that means I won't be around until this coming Tuesday or Wednesday when my connection is up and all of my files have been transferred to my new computer.

Thanks For Understanding & Talk to you soon!

The "Ghostfacers" Get Their Own Website

It seems like the folks at the CW are having a good time promoting this week's return of Supernatural. The episode, entitled "Ghostfacers," finds Sam and Dean showing up on a television series similar to Ghost Hunters, and it's definitely a departure from the show's usual structure and filming style. This first post-strike installment reunites the Winchesters with the bumbling hunters from season 1's "Hell House," and it's filmed as though it's an actual paranormal reality series.

To get into the faux-reality style, the network has launched Ghostfacers.com. The website features training tips, exclusive videos, a fake movie trailer, and even the official, and completely addictive, "Ghostfacers" theme song. The characters of Harry and Ed definitely left a lasting, hilarious impression when they showed up in "Hell House." This time they'll be joined by three more Ghostfacers: Maggie, Corbett, and Spruce. The site contains video interviews with each member of the team where they discuss what scares them, what skills are needed to face ghosts, and what they really think about Sam (Jared Padalecki) and Dean (Jensen Ackles) Winchester. One of the hunters likens the Winchesters to a "ball itch," which isn't the most flattering comparison.

My two favorite aspects of the website are the movie trailer and the "Ghostfacers" theme song. The trailer is for a non-existent slasher flick called Hell Hazers II: The Reckoning, which is supposedly directed by Supernatural producer McG. As for the theme song, it's the type of catchy ditty ("Ghost...ghostfacers!") that you won't be able to get out of your head.

Ghostfacers airs Thursday at 9pm on the CW.  To keep yourself busy until then, head on over to Ghostfacers.com for all of the hilarious extras.
